A palette generator that respects your locks
Most generators throw random colors at you. ColorSwoop builds every palette from a color-harmony rule with a deliberate lightness spread, so hues, lightness and saturation stay balanced. Lock any color with the padlock and press space: the locked colors stay put while the rest are regenerated to match them. Use the arrows to reorder, the + and − buttons to tune a shade, or click any hex to type your own.
FAQ
How does the ColorSwoop palette generator work?
Press the space bar (or tap Generate) to create a new palette. The generator picks a base hue and applies a color harmony rule (analogous, complementary, triadic, split-complementary, monochromatic or a curated mood) with an even lightness spread so every result is balanced. Lock any color you like and keep generating until the rest fits.
Can I start from my own color?
Yes. Click a hex code to edit it, or open the generator from any color page. Locked colors stay fixed while the rest of the palette is regenerated around them.
How do I export the palette?
Use Copy CSS, Tailwind, or Download PNG. The URL updates as you generate, so you can bookmark or share the exact palette.
